We host your group at our NYC candle-making studio
Looking to celebrate a team event? A birthday, bachelor/ette, or baby shower? Or maybe you just want an excuse to get your favorite people together? Whatever the occasion, we’re here to bring your vision to life!
We’re available for private events Monday–Sunday. Our studio is BYOB, and there are no additional fees for private groups!
Our studio can host up to 14 guests for an intimate private event. Looking to host a larger group? We can bring the candle-making experience to you! Learn more about our corporate and on-site candle-making experiences.
We love a theme! So if you've got a wild idea, throw it our way! We can create custom candle labels and other personalized touches for your group. Just give us at least 3 weeks' notice so we can plan and source custom items.

You can theme the experience (Valentine’s, bridal shower, birthdays, brand colors, etc.), add custom labels with names/date/company, or create a signature scent menu tailored to your group. The result is a candle that feels truly personal and a keepsake that guests actually want to take home and use.
We Offer Both On-Site & Off-Site Workshops
We offer both on-site workshops at our Hell’s Kitchen studio and off-site workshops at your location. That means you can choose what’s easiest for your team: an after-work outing near Midtown, or an in-office experience with zero travel time while still getting the same polished, guided event.
Our Workshops Are Intentionally Educational
Our workshops are thoughtfully designed to be more than just a fun activity. While you’ll absolutely enjoy the creative process, you’ll also gain a deeper understanding of candle-making and candle care tips. We make sure every guest has a great time, feels inspired to create, and leaves Vela having learned something new.
